About Simoné Biddulph

With a dance career spanning over 32 years; ballet trained from the tender age of 4, under the tutelage of Sandra Gibson, in the style of the Royal Academy of Dance; and later, as a classical Bharatanatyam Indian dancer, Simoné Biddulph (professionally known as Kalila) is a highly skilled and remarkable performer.

In 2006, Simoné discovered her true love in Belly dance when she joined Belly Dance Goddess with Angela Sanders. With extensive training and certifications from international dancers all over the world, today, she is the primary teacher within the Company. Her passion and fervour for this ancient and mysterious dance medium inspire and motivates her students; her classes are filled with magical musings, laughter, and fun.  Past and present students, as well as public clientele, have glowing commendations about her luminous performances and dynamism. 

Having competed in Miss Belly Dance SA, she was awarded Gold in the Wings category, as well as placing Third in the Title of Miss Belly SA in 2015. Exhibiting her dynamic skill and prowess, Simoné played various roles in The Bellydance Evolution’s production of Alice in Wonderland in 2016. Not to mention that she’s had the esteemed privilege of performing alongside world-renowned, International, global dance sensations, Rania, Karim Nagi, Bozenka, Aziza, Jillina, Sharon Kihara, Yasmina of Cairo, Ansuya, Mercedes Nieto, Sadie Marquardt, and Jasirah.

Simoné was a part of the theatrical production of Happily Never After presented by Nova Nouveau Productions in 2019 in Johannesburg and 2020 in Cape Town.

In recent years Simoné has become a huge part of Dancing Divinity, a prominent Belly Dance Studio based in Johannesburg headed up by the principle and owner Natalie Clark. She started attending classes with Natalie in 2018 and she joined the Dancing Divinity teaching team in 2023.

She has also spent extensive time back stage, as the stage manager at multiple MBDSA (Miss Belly Dance South Africa) events, as well as the videographer in more recent International online video project for Dancing Divinity.

Simoné is a passionate Belly Dancer that is well worth watching.
